To Whom It May Concern: Contract Opportunity
The Office of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (ODHH) is recruiting individuals, groups, and agencies to be contractor(s) doing part-time work. The purpose of the contract is to train deaf-blind clients of ODHH's Telecommunications Equipment Distribution (TED) program how to use new Braille-based telecommunications equipment.
Requirements
-Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL), both visual and tactile.
-Experience with Deaf-Blind Culture and interacting in a deaf-blind community.
-A working knowledge of 6-dot Braille characters (Grade 1 Braille)
-Access to and experience working with computers: uploading/downloading software, troubleshooting problems, and communicating with technical support specialists.
-Ability to travel, schedule time and transportation, write reports and provide detailed invoices.
The pay rate for this statewide contract is up to a maximum of $40,000 per year. Cost items will be negotiated.
